Quest Software and Common Criteria

Quest Software is committed to product quality and assurance. Quest supports product certification for use by our Federal government customers to ensure that security and information assurance standards are achieved. Quest plans to submit products for evaluation under the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation. We are reviewing the literature made available by Common Criteria to help determine which products might need security certification, to determine if existing Protection Profiles might apply, and to determine what Evaluation Assurance Level package would be required.

In preparation for evaluation, Quest has appointed senior management personnel to oversee the effort, and has met with Federal officials to discuss the scope and potential requirements behind the Common Criteria.

Our plans include holding further discussions with our US Federal government customers to ensure that we understand the requirements, processes, resources and costs involved to achieve certification. Based on those discussions Quest then intends to contact an accredited evaluation laboratory for further assistance.
