SQL Tuning
Quest Central for Sybase SQL Tuning incorporates the following new features and improvements: - Supports Sybase ASE 15.0. The following Adaptive Server 15.0 features are supported in this version.
- A new set of optimization preferences for the SQL Optimizer
- Function-based indexes, computed columns, and partitioned objects
- Query Processing Metrics used to capture top resource intensive SQL in SQL Inspector
- Optimization Timeout setting selected from Adaptive Server for optimization
- Optimization timeout limit and optimization goal values are displayed in the Information Panel
- Cursor sensitivity and scrollability in the cursor declaration for optimization
- Computed columns and function-based indexes in the Add Index wizard in the Index Advisor module
- New configuration parameters in the Configuration Analyzer and the Migration Analyzer
- New tree-like display format for the abstract plan to accommodate changes to the abstract plan in ASE 15
- Partition information from an ASE 15 database in the Database Explorer XML plan
- New datatypes (unitext, bigint, and unsigned integer type)
- Large Identifier with maximum length of 255 bytes
- New Code Finder module identifies database objects and files that contain specific text
- Test for Scalability. The ability to submit Optimized SQL alternatives to Benchmark Factory to identify the best performing SQL under different user load scenarios.
- Create import file for Benchmark Factory from the SQL Scanner, SQL Inspector, or SQL Repository
- New function to extract SQL statements from database objects that reference specific tables or views and add them to the SQL Repository.

- Optionally load the Data Dictionary when connecting to a database
- Ability to save SQL Parameters (values and datatypes) between sessions
